First Ambulance

The first ambulance purchased was a 1964 Cadillac Miller Metro, which was lost in transit on a train car and had to be replaced. Spring Hill’s first “station” was the driveway of 27 Hempstead Road, the home of William Martin.

1967
03/01/1967

First Ambulance Station

On March 1st, 1967, Spring Hill went into service. Gino Coatti, a local mason, offered his property for the first ambulance station. This address is now known at Joe’s Tires, located at 53 Union Road, Spring Valley.

04/23/1968

Ambulance Month

April 23rd, 1968-  Month of May proclaimed Spring Hill Ambulance Month by then-Town of Ramapo supervisor John McAlevey.

1969
09/27/1969

Broke Ground

Our current property was donated by George Faist. On Sept. 27th, 1969, ground was broken at our current location.
